Carku Guesthouse Rates & Booking

Carku Guesthouse

Address: Theth, Gjecaj, Thethi

The two spacious guest rooms at Carku Guesthouse display its simple yet effective traditional architecture. They are located on the second floor, atop a characteristic internal staircase, part of which is occupied by an impressive home library housing all the classics of Albanian literature.

Guests are urged to explore the farming complex, as farming is the main livelihood of the local population. After all, they will be sharing the same courtyard with two cows, one calf, 13 chicken and six sheep belonging to the hostess, Nona Age!

All the dairy products, vegetables, meat and bread are homemade under Nona Age's vigilant eye, but are processed in the kitchen, which is the young women's domain. Dining at Carkus is a truly wholesome experience. While Mehill makes sure everyone in the dining room gets at least a glass full of raki, the twilight of the low-voltage electricity in Theth lends a warm cosy atmosphere in which stories unfold, one after the other.
