Guardians of the last gate into the highest and widest section of the Valbona valley, the shocking gorge of Qetat e Harushes, Dunishe inhabitants have dwelt in this hamlet for the last 200 years. Members of the same fis, the Albanian highlanders equivalent of Klan, Dunishe inhabitants occupy five kulla, thick-walled, rock houses, still displaying the traditional pine wood roofs; they still farm their mountain sheep and cows, plough their land, grow their corn, bake their own bread that smells like sweet flour and burning wood, and above all they welcome you with a true smile, an open heart and a serene atmosphere, trademarks of Albanian hospitality.
The Selimaj Guesthouse combines the authentic architecture of the land, with fresh and smartly refurbished rooms on the second floor of this highlander's home.
Various development organizations, such as the German Organization for Technical Cooperation, have worked with the host families in the area to bring their guesthouses up to standard. While travelers must keep in mind that these are very modest, simple, and rustic family home environments, they will be pleased to find that the accommodations do provide a comfortable stay.
It is most considerate to book in advance so that each family has time to prepare the food and guestrooms with your comfort in mind.
The cafe, bar and restaurant are 100 m from the guesthouse.

As tourism is still very new in Albania, the village guesthouses do not have a check-in or check-out time. However, if there is a new group coming, guests will be requested to check-out before the arrival of the new guest (which is usually after noon).
If luggage is required to be left at the reception for a few extra hours after checking out of the room, the reception would be happy to oblige. Guests should refer to the online dictionary while asking about storage of their luggage.
Children are welcome to stay.
Cancellations made 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival will not be charged.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice are subject to a charge equivalent to your first night's stay.
Guests are advised to bring a warm sweater or windcheater as protection against the cold mountain air, and also a pair of warm socks, as it is the custom in Albania to take off one's shoes while entering the house.
