Ded Nika
Dede Nika and his family live here all year around, and follow the rhythm of nature and their crops.
Deke Nika, the host, offers his guests an option of experiencing the life of an Albanian farmer and learning all about how to till the land while enjoying the beautiful environment. Of course they are compensated for their labours. Guests choosing to work on the farm are charged only EUR 8, instead of the regular rate of EUR 20, and are served free meals. Guests will work on the land between four and five hours a day, engaging in activities that include picking corn, digging irrigation channels and taking care of chicken and animals.
A typical work day would start before sunrise and entail taking the animals to pasture or working in the cornfield. When the sun was high and the air hot, guests would rest in the shade with the family, enjoying a simple meal and drinking lots of fresh water. Work in the fields would start again only after four in the afternoon, and last for another couple of hours.
During his free time Dede Nika would love to show guests around, visiting local attractions such as Kaprre and its water source.
