Fran and Lula Molla
The Molla sons and daughters, born and raised in a place with such an abundance of harsh beauty, have all moved to the city, in search of an easier life. However, during summer they all come back home, bringing along their toddlers and younger ones, and take turns in helping with the guests, the crops and the harvest, the sheep and the house. They also participate in Theti's busy, summer social calendar.
Preservation and education of local environment
In Theth, man meets nature and has to take certain measures in order to survive. Because there is little cultivable land the Molla family, like all farmers who make a living in this valley, must constantly repair all damages to terrace walls. It is thanks to the system of terraces that Thethi highlanders have become stronger than the harsh environment they inhabit.
Every summer Fran Molla fixes all shaken and broken stone terraces that keep the ground together in the valley. This system provides the basis for their way of life, and a visit with Fran around his terraces may turn into a masonry crash course, as guests will learn how to make walls using only stones. Visitors are welcome to help him and learn masonry skills.
